Welcome to The Cottage of Content
We're a traditional country pub in Barton, on the edge of Bidford-on-Avon - whitewashed walls, a low tiled roof and duck-egg blue windows that make us easy to spot from the road.
We've been refurbished to a high standard, but the changes are all about doing the basics better - not changing what makes us a proper local. Cask Marque real ales, home-cooked food and regular entertainment are still very much the heart of what we do.

Tables out front and round the side for a sunny afternoon, and behind the pub the camping field - the same field that becomes the festival site every summer.

Our food
Pub classics with a twist
We take the food we all grew up loving and give it a modern edge. It's a menu built for families and picky eaters alike, with fresh ingredients and dishes that change with the seasons.
Sunday lunch is where we come into our own - plentiful, fresh, and popular enough that we always recommend booking. There is a proper vegetarian section on the card, and the kitchen will talk you through what it can adapt for anything else.

Our 24-pitch campsite sits in the field behind the pub, with electric hook-up, hot showers and the river a short stroll away. If you fancy staying longer than one meal, you can.

We host entertainment right through the year, from our November fireworks to a full festival weekend in the summer. It's all part of being a proper community pub.

Our horsebox bar travels to weddings, birthdays, village fêtes, corporate events and more - draught beer and cider, wines and prosecco, spirits, cocktails, Pimm's, soft drinks and alcohol-free options. We build indoor bars too, for marquees, village halls and any other event space.

Event catering, cooked on site
ADevents is our mobile catering side - a five-metre black Airstream kitchen serving hot food fresh at your event, from casual crowd-feeding to something more of an occasion. Book it on its own or alongside one of our bars.
